About the Negroni Sbagliato
Here’s a fresh take on the classic Negroni, arriving just in time for Negroni Week (Sept 16-22). Although its name loosely translates to “mistaken Negroni,” the Negroni Sbagliato is the perfect choice when you want a lighter, spritzier version of the classic cocktail. Instead of the usual gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth, this variation substitutes prosecco or another sparkling wine for the gin, giving it a refreshing twist.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz sweet vermouth
- 1 oz Campari
- 1 oz Prosecco (instead of gin)
- Orange slice (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Fill a mixing glass with ice
- Add the sweet vermouth and Campari
- Stir well to chill and combine the ingredients
- Strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with ice
- Add the Prosecco gently over the top
- Garnish with an orange slice.
