About the True North Maple Sour cocktail
A classic whiskey sour is already a game-changer, but this version takes it to the next level for a truly Northern-inspired sip. By swapping superfine sugar for rich maple syrup and adding fresh thyme, this cocktail gets a subtle, earthy twist that’s perfect for spring. The bold spice of Canadian rye pairs beautifully with fresh lemon, while egg white creates a smooth, silky texture. If you’re a whiskey fan, this is a must-try!
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Canadian rye whiskey
- 0.5 oz. pure maple syrup
- 2 to 3 long sprigs of fresh thyme
- 1 dash orange or citrus bitters
- 1 oz. fresh lemon juice
- 1 egg white
- Thyme sprig for garnish
- Ice
Instructions:
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle the thyme sprigs with maple syrup and bitters. Smash and stir well to release the flavours.
- Add lemon juice, Canadian rye whiskey, and egg white. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
